Farewell to Geoff Bowen

Posted by on Jan 18, 2018 in Uncategorized

On behalf of the Board of DEBI Directors, we bid a fond farewell to Geoff Bowen of Pebblebed Vineyards who served for four year as DEBI Chairman from 2002 to 2006.  Geoff was also a long standing Board member and stalwart supporter of the organisation as well as Devon’s environment in general.  Geoff died suddenly on 6 January 2018.   If the service to celebrate his life held on 17 January 2018 is anything to go by, he was a much respected and well loved man.

DEBI recognises the enormous contribution Geoff made to DEBI in its 25 year history.  Many of our members heard of DEBI through Geoff’s innate talent for networking and building community.  Always the innovator with a keen eye for sharing knowledge, Geoff hosted a number of DEBI events at Pebblebed Vineyard – most recently the Renewable Energy Forum which brought end users of renewable energy together to share information as well as their experiences of biomass boilers and solar PV.

Geoff’s exquisite Wines were a hallmark of the Awards, presented to winners and finalists alike with a personalised DEBI Awards label to mark the occasion.

DEBI would like to thank Geoff for being such a dynamic force within DEBI and for his contribution towards safe guarding Devon’s beautiful environment.  We extend our condolences to Anna and the Bowen family.
